In honor of Martin Luther King Jr day, I purchased the March trilogy written by Congressman John Lewis and finished reading all three. The creators of this graphic novel series did a fantastic job! It was a wonderful refresher on the long hard fight for civil rights in America. Highly recommend his honest and brutal first-hand account.

As a proud black man, I really enjoyed reading this awesome book. Thank you John Lewis for sharing your extraordinary life. I'm in my late 50's. I don't remember reading much about my proud black history. It's a shame that I didn't have books like this when I was going to school. I was only privy to books about everything else, sad to admit. Our kids need to learn and know about our history as a people. All it seems is not fair. Sigh.....

This graphic novel (and Book 2) by Congressman Lewis belongs in every middle and high school in the country. It should be adopted in American History classes. Indeed, they belong on everyone's iPad.The visual narrative supplied by the powerful art reinforces the impact, often literally, of first person narrative of Rep. Lewis. The courage of young men and women, black and white, who endured beatings and jail for simply asking to be served at a restaurant represents a past we must never forget. Thank you, Representative Lewis.

I chose this as one of my summer reads...the contents were good, like a history refresher,or like cramming before an exam...It's a page turner,so when I got to the last page, and I didn't know it was the last page,I was disappointed...I wanted more...but overall,it was good.

One of the most inspiring and imaginative renderings of the life of one of our national treasures, Mr. John Lewis. I eagerly await the next installments and encourage folks of all ages and backgrounds to buy these books.

one of the most important stories in American history is finally available in graphic novel form. Thanks Top Shelf. Can't wait for book two. I will definitely be sharing this with my daughter who is five years old. Stories about true courage in the face of evil are not told often enough. Our children need to know that GOD is revealed through the actions of people who embrace righteousness and justice. Thank you Congressman Lewis.
