5 stars. Great book. This is for sure is a page turner, I couldn't put it down. The only slightly boring parts are the chapters about Franconas childhood and the parts about his father. Everything else though is like being right beside Francona as he is living this moments in baseball history he describes.
  • Superb! A journey into the team of my childhood and my father's childhood

Each morning I have read a few pages on the train I to work and quickly and effortlessly, I was sitting alongside Red Sox Nation's Manager. I feel as though I know my team better, and it has strengthened my love baseball by bringing me closer to my father's favorite pastime. The humility, candor and compassion The Manager showed his team can be used as insightful lessons for any supervisor looking to become a leader. Thank you Mr. Francona for bringing timeless pride to the Red Sox. @BrianMobileGuy

Good perspective on the challenges of managing a major league team in a huge market like Boston, vs. the business side of baseball.. Still miss Francona. As a lifelong Sox fan, I didn't appreciate what we had until it was gone.

Tito is too classy for the Red Sox organization. This book shows how the Henry ownership group only cared about themselves.

I am a die hard Yankee fan for 40 years and I've Always admired the way Francona held himself, he seemed always in control, however I could never get over the way the sox beat us those 4 games in a row. I thought I might get some insight by reading this book. Well worth it was a good read. Francona has morals which are hard to come by in this age. Good luck.terry Butch

Loved this book. Lifelong Red Sox fan who no longer follows the club at all. Over the past several years things would be reported via "anonymous sources" that don't belong in the public sector. It was never enough that a player or coach etc would be leaving the organization. There always was that leak following the exit. What was done to Terry Francona is a disgrace of epic proportions. The man brought 2 World Series titles to this ownership group and what he got in return is just disgraceful. Henry, Werner, and especially Lucchino, who comes off as a sneaky snake oil salesman, are completely out of touch and have their priorities in the complete wrong order. This book does a great job describing all of that in detail. I hope Terry experiences even more success in Cleveland and want to thank him for his tremendous contributions during his time in Boston. The true fans will never forget what a great leader, Manager, and person he is.
