User reviews about the book
Nicely written book. Thoughtful. I have one quibble with author. Doesn't he see any lowly mutts in his practice? Surely more than one mention of a cross-breed or plain Heinz 57 could have been used. We need to get over glamorizing fancy dog breeds that no longer serve their original purpose. We don't need to own breeds originally used for lion hunting or enormous canines used for rescue in the high alps or the cold waters of Newfoundland. Encourage the idea that adoption of mutts is the way to find a perfect companion and a healthy dog.
Drama, laughter, and heartache

This is a great book, I read it when it first came out and I fell in love with Trouts writing style and compassion. I'm a vet tech and could instantly relate to the book, as well as understand the references. It was great because of the suspense and drama hidden within it's pages! Try it and see if it suits you.
